How do you prove this mathematically? Telling you that would pretty much give away the whole puzzle! I mentioned Fibonacci numbers in an earlier post, and dismissed them, but I can't think of a counterexample for any set of Fibonacci coins (e.g. [1,2,3,5,8] is one possible set, [1,2,3,5,8,13,21] is another), so maybe they do work.
