Re: The Dead of 2024
Frank Field becomes the third one from my list to go. Probably for the best really as it can't have been pleasant being so far in to a terminal illness.

Despite his age I was shocked by this. The night prior I had watched a fairly recent debate he had taken part in where he had specifically mentioned a couple of times that he was in good health. Sad times

Re: The Dead of 2024
It was quite a big deal for me too. I've always thought of Daniel Dennett as one of the "big two" in the philosophy of consciousness (along with David Chalmers), which is a particular area of interest to me. I disagreed with a lot of what Dennett said, and always found him incredibly smug and arrogant, but it's still a sad time for philosophy.Callum Todd wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 8:40 pmDespite his age I was shocked by this. Shifty Shellshock (not his real name) from one hit wonders Crazy Town. Met him once when my friend's band supported them on their comeback tour. He was pretty cool. Someone in the crowd tried to give him a pint of Guinness but he politely refused, explaining that the whole band were recovering alcoholics.

Frank Field
Shannen Doherty
How the hell Jimmy Carter is still alive is beyond me. He's clearly totally unkillable (just like Donald Trump, though I did try.)

Very sad.
Though not quite as sad as when we lost to 10 man Brazil in the World cup quarter final in 2002
But Germany 1 , England 5 will always be remembered
