Not saying it's cruel or whatever but I have a strong objection to the top knobs exercising their power and deciding that a minority sport (or any sport) should take precedence over a regular programme that thousands enjoy.

I suppose it's only unfair the first time you take out insurance because, as someone said, it then depends on your claims record. It would probably go up immediately after you made your first claim and if you had a major write off it could go up a huge amount.....or have I missed the point?

I not only find it odd that Marcus's 'previous' was not even mentioned but I felt slightly uncomfortable. I felt something was wrong.

I realise that Countdown needs to stick to one dictionary - but the OED is not my cuppa t. You cannot blame Susie for what she is given to work with.

As a verb (in Chambers), repute means "to account, deem" - I know that is of no interest to Countdowners but it is to me.

You can buy, or make, a hook with hooks on for hanging belts by their buckles. The top hook would be like that on a coathanger to hook over the bar and the other hooks could be very small - perhaps running down a chunk of wood that has the big hook in the top.

Raw porridge oats with fresh fruit and nuts and seeds. Posh word is muesli.
Make it myself with no sugar and sometimes add a handfull of bite size shredded wheat. Shredded wheat (small or large) is the only cereal I know that has absolutely nothing added.
