Carol did seem to go round the houses a bit in explaining Rick's "trick". Was it really necessary for her to explain that 1758 is 2008 - 250, and so when you add 1758 to 250 what you're doing is 250 + 2008 - 250, so the 250s cancel, leaving 2008? Surely simply adding 250 and 1758 to give 2...

Almost certainly. And I guess 88 is the lowest total for anyone over two games. Still, she gets one day as #8 seed before she gets passed by Chris Davies tomorrow.

It's simply a separate competition for all the people who are knocked out in the Prelimary and quarter finals. No, it does not enable anyone to get back into the main competition.

I've just managed to watch the game. In my view, clearly the two best players of the series competed in the final. Congrats to both players for making it, and especially to David for becoming champion. Hope to watch you both in the next COC.

My understanding from a few students I've had recently is that the STEP exams are extra exams after A levels, and are for admission to Cambridge, and maybe Oxford as well. When reading your recap, I was very puzzled. I was sure I'd have remembered if an annoying 8 year old had been mentioned in the clue to the second TTT. Then I read properly what you'd written. :lol:

The clue was "Washed thoroughly, and put off Durade".
