OH MY GOD PATRICK HAS DONE IT..............WHAT A WAY TO WIN YOUR GRAND FINAL BY ACHIEVING A MAX GAME !!!!

This game had several notable highlights:
NOTE 1: Thompson's performance was a max game — the sixteenth in the history of Countdown and the first ever in a grand final in any playing format.
NOTE 2: Within a double century game in the new 15-round format, this was the first time that a max has been recorded.
NOTE 3: This was the first time in any version of the 15-round format that both contestants scored over 125.
NOTE 4: Harrison's losing score of 127 became the highest of all time, breaking the record set by Andy Platt in his Championship of Champions XIV quarter-final.
NOTE 5: Thompson and Harrison scored maximum points in 28 of the 29 picks they offered between them.
NOTE 6: The aggregate score of 274 is the highest in the history of the show, breaking the record set in the Championship of Champions XV quarter-final between Zarte Siempre and Tom Carey.
This has to be one of the best grand finals I have ever witnessed, firstly congratulations to Patrick Thompson on becoming it's 93rd champion and the latest recipient of the Richard Whiteley memorial trophy and a state of the computer secondly commiserations to Charlie Harrison who has been a real pleasure to watch with his brilliant wordplay he can proud be of what he has achieved as a series runner up he won't be going away empty handed his runners up prize will be a state of the art tablet. I will be looking forward to seeing these guys in the up and coming Champion of Champions. It has been an absolute honour to recap this game one that I am proud of, we will be heading into series 94 that will be coming to our screens on Monday where incumbent champion Karen Pearson will kick off proceedings...........so in the meantime it is bye for now !
