It's February, so that means it's time for the fourth annual Masters tournament. A quick recap of the way it works- a preselected group of 26 players (the eponymous 'masters') enter the tournament at the first round stage. The remaining six places- as well as any spaces freed by one or more of the 26 opting not to play- will be filled by the winners of the qualifying knock-out tournament. As always, invitations are determined primarily by performance on both the show and at co-events, with online performance being only a minor consideration.
All qualifying games and the first round proper will be best-of-3, and with each successive round the number of games required to win each match increases gradually until you get to the best-of-11 final. The play-in tournament will begin on Sunday 20th February, and the first round proper will begin on the 7th of March, and will conclude with the final on the 4th of April. Each round will last strictly seven days, after which if a date hasn't been set to play the games, matches will be adjudicated.
