I qualify for an IVA (surely you've washed enough of your dirty washing on this forum I hear you ask) but I HAVE HEARD THAT THEY ARE SHIT.
Bankrupcy is supposed to be better but until I can get off my arse and go to the CAB I would welcome some advice.

So, rather than go to the CAB, who know what they are talking about, you prefer the advice of a lot of people you don't know, with no expertise, many of whom wish you ill. And no, I won't be a guarantor for your loan.
