Well, this is my attempt at a recap as Oliver was away filming the finals stage of series 62 and Dinos is otherwise engaged.

C1: Champion Nicki Sellars (3 wins, 256 points.)
C2: Challenger Annette Sutton. Annette is from Litlington, Cambridgeshire and is nicknamed "fatty" by her friends. She enjoys to swim, play badminton and Ceroc dance. She loves chocolate!

Nicki's mental arithmetic is spot on and she takes the lead for the first time in the match.

John talks about not liking to play slow opponents in the World Championships. He also mentions the time when his wife mistook N-gage with engage whilst in Liverpool with their children. Hilarity ensued.

Despite missing two 8's Nicki is pleased to get her nose back in front with a 7 in this topsy turvy match.

Susie asks Rachel which of the following words used to mean a large rake with wolves teeth. Rachel guesses correctly with HEARSE. Other options were SCYTHE and TOASTER.

Round 10: 75, 10, 1, 10, 1, 4. Target: 261.

Both know their 75 times tables and scoop the 10 points to boost their scores.

A tricky darren eludes both contestants who offer no-goers despite seeming plausible to them. The gap is a slender 2 point lead to the challenger as we head into the final numbers round.

Both ladies manage 2 away which means it's a crucial conundrum.

C1 buzzes on 7 seconds to say OVERCROWD which is correct.
Score: 83–75 (max 119)

Nicki apologises to Annette at the end after winning on a crucial conundrum but it is a well deserved victory after the lead changed hands no more than 6 times. The former teaching assistant marches on past the halfway mark on the road to octochampdom. Can Nicki cement a fifth win and inch closer to a quarter finals place? Find out with James on Wednesday.

Having watched the repeat, the recap for R14 is wrong. The target was 608 and the contestants both got 610 for 2 away.
