Haha,
I had a look using Ancestry tools.
Nobody named Tom Bolas got married or were born between 1984 and 2005, but two births had "Thomas" as their middle name.
The deaths records revealed....
Thomas Herbert Bolas 20th December 1927- June 2000
Thomas Horace Bolas 21st April 1914 - May 1989
There are 6 people named "Thomas Bolas" in the 1901 census out of a total of 210 with that surname, it's pretty likely that you're related to at least some of 'em. One of them lived in Snedshill, Shropshire, where my mothers fathers mother was born in 1870, curiously enough.

Re: [20080321] Friday's game
I've spoken to my mum to find out about Tom/Thomas Bolas and apparently, I do a have a Thomas Bolas who is my uncle and is alive and living in Perth, Australia. My mum, unfortunately is homophobic so she doesn't like him (just so you know, I ain't homophobic).
He is the only Thomas Bolas though that my mum knows about.

Me neither. Must be a very difficult condition, being scared of your house.DaveC wrote:(just so you know, I ain't homophobic).

More seriously 'tis a very curious word. A "...phobia" word more usually meant in a sense that doesn't mean "a fear of" in the same way Arachnophobia or Nudophobia are normally used.

Good jokeDaveC wrote:Me neither. Must be a very difficult condition, being scared of your house.
I don't think that she is afraid of them, she just doesn't like them because, in her words, they are not normal.DaveC wrote:More seriously 'tis a very curious word.
