GOTW 22-28 Feb

Post by Paul Howe »

A bit late, but here's GOTW from last week. This week's will follow shortly. If you read down the thread you'll see that Charlie and Jono were actually collaborating in their games to get a high joint score, something I was unaware of when I made the poll, so you may want to account for this when voting.

Jon O'Neill v Charlie Reams - Jono and Charlie are inseparable all the way through this one. Amusingly, Jono celebrates a joint score record in the final round, only for it to go to a tie-breaking conundrum and get counted as a custom game

Dinos Sfyris v Chris Davies - High quality speedgoat action. Nuff said

Steven Anderson v Graham Wright - There weren't enough dazzling games this week for me to feel guilty about throwing in some comedy. This is the lowest joint score I've ever seen between two humans, even more suspiciously amusing is that Graham managed to beat Charlie later in the week.

Jon O'Neill v Charlie Reams - To be honest the vast majority of decent games this week were between these two. The rest of you need to pull your socks up.

Ian Volante v Dinos Sfyris - Dinos manages 5 9s on his own pick (albeit one unintenionally), which I believe to be a record (held jointly with Kirk before he jumps in to correct me again). Top goating.

Two things:
1) The games with Jono were part of our project to get every joint score record, so we were team-playing it. This explains why we offered the same word in most of the rounds.
2) Steven Anderson is younger than Kai, so it's not really that bad. I don't know how old Graham is, but I would guess from his poor grasp of spelling and excess of testosterone that he's a teenager.

It's his 13th birthday next week, so (well calculated!) he's older than me. But oh well.
16/10/2007 - Episode 4460
Dinos Sfyris 76 - 78 Dorian Lidell
Proof that even idiots can get well and truly mainwheeled.

I see. Well, they're in there now, I've edited the poll to allow people to revote should they wish to change their mind in light of this.

Have also edited the original post to let people know.
