This game contains the best moment of S77 and with it probably the most epic numbers round of all time...
Top banter!

Why are you always so weird about everything?
Agree with Ray and Eoin, that was a great game. Noel was a very good sport and gave a super show- very unlucky to lose on 10 maxes, but Tom was simply unstoppable today. Noel was winner material but ended up in the wrong series I think! We'll have to see how the rest of the week pans out!
My scores for today:
Me:69-134 (Tom) (I was pleased to get SYNERGISM before though )
Me:97-104 (Noel) (Couple of chickening moments cost me)

Absolutely this. I don't think there's many people who could have beaten Tom in that game under studio pressure or an apterous. Even if you'd been perfect and spotted MISAGREE you'll still going to lose to that speed of conundrum most of the time.
Very very well played Tom and especial congrats to Noel on being something of a fans favourite - definitely a great contestant to watch and great person all round (that's not saying you aren't Tom!).
Interestingly, Tom's 134 comes almost exactly 2 years to the day that Jonathan Wynn compiled his 134, also in his semi final (on 22/12/2015). For almost 2 years no one matched or beat this.
It was a fun game, despite the harrowing score line! I had UNDERSEAL and UNDERSALE, but couldn't remember which was allowed! Might have made the score look a bit less desperate!

Seeing as it wasn't the exact day, high scores will often be achieved by the best players, finals are always about the same dates, and it would have been no less interesting if it had been one year, three years, ten years before . . . it's not all that interesting, is it? Top performance, though.
