Supreme Championship On YouTube

Post by James Robinson »

Just been rummaging around and managed to find 4 videos from the original Supreme Championship from 1996. 8-) 8-)

I thought it might give pleasure to some of you guys out there. ;) :) :D  8-)

Yeah, when I saw the Supreme Championship conundrums I wasn't really convinced PENETRANT was a real word either, much less the "intended" answer. Reminds me of a CoC game when the answer was clearly meant to be RELAPSING but the person guessed SPANGLIER instead.

Anyway, awesome finds JR :!: Nice to see more of the second-greatest Countdown tournament of all time.
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

Not from the Supreme Championship, but how about this for conundrum controversy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KPGJXr8VHE#t=6m30s

He gave his answer as promptly as any other contestant would, and nobody would have known he'd changed his answer after buzzing had he not told Richard. Fair or not?

Fair or not? Fair, in my opinion. He came up with the answer straight after buzzing, without hesitation, repetition, or deviation. Oops, wrong game show ;)
