Spoilers For Monday November 23rd 2009
Well, we're closing on the end of Series 61. Just 13 shows left before the quarters.
The top 6 of Andrew Hulme, Chris Davies, Innis Carson, Ryan Taylor, Brian Selway & Jeffrey Burgin can all look forward to fighting it out in the piece de resistance in 2 and a half weeks time, but who are going to take the last 2 places
Steve Wood seems a good bet since he has 8 wins, like the top 6. And in No.8 position is Jacqueline Baker from the very start of the series. Although, she could be out of the picture by the end of tomorrow if our current champion has anything to do with it.
Charlie Khoo currently has 4 wins. 2 more will get him a top 8 place, for the moment. If he becomes Octochamp #8 on Thursday, he'll guarantee his place in the finals if his total score is at least double what it is now. (I believe he's on 351, so double that makes 702, which would be higher than Jeffrey).
Back in DC today is ex-England coach and cricketer David Lloyd. I thought he was in South Africa watching our boys for Sky, but he's managed to transport himself upto Manchester for this week's shows. (Clearly the lure of Susie & Rachel was too strong for him.)
His return seems to be slightly ironic, since the last time he was in DC was when the show was still in Leeds, where his rivals Yorkshire play their cricket. (He played for Lancashire, in case you didn't know!) Now, he's back on home turf in Manchester, hopefully giving all some good laughs this week, unless you're not a cricket fan of course

James,
You do realise that they record Countdown weeks in advance of it appearing on our screens?
Not many people know this, it surprised my Mother when I found out and informed her.

A very good summary.James Robinson wrote:Now, [David Lloyd]'s back on home turf in Manchester, hopefully giving all some good laughs this week, unless you're not a cricket fan of course
Just wanted to say that I voted for David in your poll of favourite new DC guests, even though I am not a fan of cricket. I still found him very humourous, and his speaking voice was a joy.
Edit: We've just got back, and now they tell us where to find the curry places!

Well done lass.
Re: Spoilers For Monday November 23rd 2009
APPOSITE in one of the earlier rounds as a DC beater.
Both today's contestants were nice, shame one of them had to lose.

EPISCOPAL would have been nice if there had of been a c instead of the l in the APPOSITE round.

Very late alternative 1st Numbers:
3 x 7 = 21, 21 x 25 = 525, 5 - 1 = 4, 4 x 8 = 32, 525 + 32 = 557
