Do Countdown and clunge go hand in hand?
Title is half-borrowed from Jay of the Inbetweeners, but the sentiment is new. Do, or have, Countdown (or other letters-based frivolity such as Scrabble) and clunge gone hand in hand for you? I would have thought not, but a number of my lady friends have informed me of intense attention from those of the fairer sex surrounding both my appearance on Countdown and my relatively weak proficiency at online Scrabble, which I fully intend to take advantage of once I have engaged in thorough stalking on Facebook. This question may be changed for Countdown and cock should you be a lass.

I've been invited to a menage-a-trois by a Frenchman I'm playing online Scrabble with.

Re: Do Countdown and clunge go hand in hand?
This idea has occurred to me before. For a programme that began life as "Calendar Countdown", there'd be a pleasing symmetry about bringing it full circle with a "Countdown Calendar". Ever since Calendar Girls came out, various groups seem to be stripping off for their own charity calendars with alarming regularity. Given the popularity of the French rugby team's annual calendar, I'm sure there'd be a market for some Countdown "Calendar Boys", though whether we'd be able to persuade enough of the decent looking ones to get their kit off for charity is probably doubtful.Ralph Gillions wrote:Definitely.Sue Sanders wrote:Do you think there's a market for a 'C4C' pin-ups calendar?
Naked.
I imagine the famous line from Calendar Girls would need amending to: "Gentlemen, we're going to need considerably bigger eclairs..."
Anyway, here's that smile to be going on with.

Maybe! Apparently he used to post on Gevin's Yahoo group, and he is certainly not adverse to writing on the net, considering he founded one of the most successful blogs. The downside is he writes for Nuts magazine though.Phil Reynolds wrote:Wow. Can we get him to start posting here? He's hot.
What I don't understand is loads of sources (including his own blog) say he was born in 1985, which means he was only 11 when he won his series, although in that article in the bit about the "clunge" he mentions being 24 at the time.

Sloblock. I'd assumed it was the same one because the DOB and other personal info matched those given on the Countdown wiki. Just been back and checked the history - and I see the erroneous information was added at 21:48 on 14 October 2009 by someone called Derek Hazell...JimBentley wrote:That's a completely different Pete Cashmore, Derek - that one (and the one in the images Phil links to) seems to be some other, non-Countdown related Pete Cashmore.Derek Hazell wrote:What I don't understand is loads of sources (including his own blog) say he was born in 1985
