Spoilers For Monday September 14th 2009
A new week. A new Countdown. Same champ, but for how long we'll have to wait and see.
If Bob wins all week, he'll be octochamp no.4 in this series. Not bad considering we're only at the halfway mark in the series! Bob is a very nice guy though, so I hope he does it.
Jo Brand and her made-up dictionary return to DC as well today.

MISROUTED
Hmmm. A few easy pickings missed. Definitely could have gone either way.

Re: Spoilers For Monday September 14th 2009
ANCIENT in round 1.
Alternative to 3rd numbers:
7 x 100 = 700
6 x 25 = 150
700 + 150 = 850
Good to see Bob win again. I knew he would, mainly because I was in the audience again.
Bob didn't seem in the zone at the beginning of the game. I'm not sure why, but he gradually regained his composure and got his first conundrum too, which can surely only boost confidence.
It was great to see Jo Brand too. She was totally brilliant. It's a bit of a shame that not all of her "words" made it into the final cut, even though most are amazing. Probably cos they can only get 37 minutes in. I actually wrote all of Jo's words from that week. At least they kept the bit where she tried the numbers in. If she'd said ((5+2)x8), that would be 56, which she could have then multiplied to the 9x1 for her 560.
Unsurprisingly her "word" from round 4 was given the chop. See if you can guess why (In her defence she did say it was a bit "un-PC".)
A mix between a Chinese man and a Japanese man - a CHINKJA.

I can tell you why James! For some reason I felt even more nervous at the start of the second day than I did the first. I remember spending the whole of the show thinking "please don't throw up"!

Re: Spoilers For Monday September 14th 2009
Anyone else notice Jo saying she "cocked up" her first numbers attempt? Shocking, really.
Also, I've discovered one benefit to her attempt at 'funny' words - it gives you an extra puzzle as you try and work out what her 'word' is as she goes through her description.

Oh dear, Bob. Thank goodness you didn't. It might have given you a claim to fame that you don't particularly want to haveBob De Caux wrote:I can tell you why James! As per usual, I watched it on Sky+ this morning and managed to get my best score in some time - 127.
Not mentioned so far - got RONDEAU as a DC beater in rd13.

At least they kept in Jeff and Susie's exchange after another of Jo's dodgy offerings... Jeff: "Anything to match PUSSIEROT?" Susie: "I really hope not". Priceless.James Robinson wrote:Unsurprisingly her "word" from round 4 was given the chop. See if you can guess why (In her defence she did say it was a bit "un-PC".)
