ANTEROOM in round 3 ?
Also, round 4 could have been embarrassing if we'd had an X instead of a J !
I also thought DUREJITOS was some nacho snack !

Haha, brilliant. No offence to him but I didn't enjoy watching him so I'm glad we have a new champion, although I was sure Andrew was going to rack up a few more wins.Phil Reynolds wrote:Not in the field of public speaking, I'll wager.Rich Priest wrote:Thought Andrew was going to go far.
I got the numbers the same way as Lesley and nailed IDOLISERS too and thought I had a max game but I had 14 maxes, missing MONOLATER. I'd never heard of it. Paul - I love you.

I thought I'd pre-empted becoming infamous for my introductory spiel two days ago when I changed my tack, but I was too late it seems.Jimmy Gough wrote:Paul Howe wrote:Insert Ben Hunter style introductory spiel here...

The bit at the end when the pink shirted man equated individualism with communism and Marxism was amazing for so many reasons.

I don't know what communism or Marxism are as I hate politics so I didn't understand it, but it must have been funny as the entire audience laughed which made Andrew uncomfortable.Ben Hunter wrote:

Communism is a collectivist philosophy, which is about putting the group ahead of the individual (and therefore the opposite of individualism). I think the audience were just laughing at the oddness of it all rather than laughing at that particular cock up, and yeah I felt a bit sorry for the guy but I still found it funny.Kirk Bevins wrote:I don't know what communism or Marxism are as I hate politics so I didn't understand it, but it must have been funny as the entire audience laughed which made Andrew uncomfortable.Ben Hunter wrote:

^ I don't think this is especially the board for it, but Marxism can be developped into Minarchism, where social responsibility is taken for granted. In such a society each individual (theoretically) could do what they wanted. Murray Rothbard was the first main player to say that this supported individuals. But meh.
I found it funny too, mainly because you don't hear that sort of thing on television usually.
More importantly, I was very suspicious of that conundrum...

I did actually wonder if Andrew had a slight communication difficulty - he didn't seem to find it easy to express himself at all fluently. Maybe it was just nerves, but I did wonder. It contrasted with what looked to be promising potential on both words and numbers.Phil Reynolds wrote:Not in the field of public speaking, I'll wager.Rich Priest wrote:Thought Andrew was going to go far.

To be fair, Andrew wasn't brought onto the show to be eloquent or charming. Jonathan Ansell, on the other hand, was actually paid for telling dull stories that didn't go anywhere and ending virtually every sentence with "...er, so yeah." Go figure.Brian Moore wrote:I did actually wonder if Andrew had a slight communication difficulty - he didn't seem to find it easy to express himself at all fluently.Phil Reynolds wrote:Not in the field of public speaking, I'll wager.Rich Priest wrote:Thought Andrew was going to go far.

My mother liked Jonathan Ansell, but she also likes a glass of Blossom Hill red wine for an evening treat. Personally I find both far too exciting. I hid behind the sofa when it came to the number plate story.Phil Reynolds wrote:To be fair, Andrew wasn't brought onto the show to be eloquent or charming.
