For me this is his best spot of the run so far, and among the best of the series - real quality stuff.DaveC wrote:R09: T I O T N I F C E

Funny that, cos I got CONFETTI pretty much straight away, yet CLERICAL eluded me for some reason. Curious how the mind works. TOILETED was also a fine spot. Git beat me with that one too.
SUPEREGO was a quality offering from the corner for sure.
Our man is definitely one to watch out for in the knockout stages. If he doesn't make 8 I'll use this recipe...

Unless Jim's got a better one.

Re: [20080328] Friday's game, 28th March 2008, S58 G59
I have taken on a new job and combined with the fact that I haven't been able to get 4oD since going wireless means that I haven't seen the current champ in action. Reading through a few of the recaps has definitely been disconcerting but I knew someone would crawl out of the woodwork.
Shouldn't that be SYMPOSIA in one round? I did get that but missed CONFETTI - quality spot. Though I am a little disappointed since I am pretty sure it's been in one of the puzzle books. SUPEREGO was absolutely top notch, I was nowhere near it. Some great words in Friday's game - shame I missed it. Look forward to recapping tomorrow.

Hmm, I got CLERICAL, TOILETED and SUPEREGO so maybe that's why I thought CONFETTI was so awesome. But generally I'm impressed by seeing any 8 without a simple form for the first time. I guess you could argue that CONFETTI has a the standard prefix CON-, but it's not a simple spot even then.DaveC wrote:Funny that, cos I got CONFETTI pretty much straight away, yet CLERICAL eluded me for some reason. I guess due to the lack of anyone else mentioning it that GROUPEES is a word I just invented in the SUPEREGO round. Shame - I needed it to beat Richard.

Nope, both are in the dictionary, but there is only one "S" in the selection.David O'Donnell wrote:Shouldn't that be SYMPOSIA in one round?
Don't do that on the telly, there could be trouble.

Holiday I wish, fitting a kitchen, a bathroom and a bog are tasks I'm to be taking part in, along with partial replacement of some floorboards, whatever that means.
I've no idea how a person goes about replacing a bog, or what you do about the old bodily functions in between removing the old one and fitting the new one. Piss in a bucket and fart for England I presume. I shall find out though.
