Just to add any comments about this year's calendar. For example, on 23rd January the puzzle doesn't list HANDSPAN as an answer, yet it is in ODE2r.

I think you're meant to send Damian a letter every time you find a mistake like that. Then at the end of the year whoever has spotted the most errors wins a prize.

When I clicked on the link, I thought someone was trying to organise a "Hunks of Countdown" calendar. I say whoever wins CoC gets to be on the cover.

I assume today's calendar conundrum COLINHOLT is in honour of everyone's favourite tournament... pity it was a week late, but a nice thought!!
