Re: Game of the Week nominations: 12 - 18 Jan
I'd generally be reluctant to award GotW to a game with a bot, but that one makes a pretty good case.
Re: Game of the Week nominations: 12 - 18 Jan
Cheers mate I did wonder about nominating this myself. I think I did him on the conundrum the game before (or maybe after) this one as well, and then he got revenge by twatting me by about 40 points.David O'Donnell wrote:An early contender for next week's GOTW?

Cheers dudes, keep them coming. And I don't think there's anything wrong with games vs bots, they tend to have a different flavour than entirely human affairs which keeps things interesting.

Not the best game in the world but would be one of the highest losing scores if was seen on the show. Tight one.

I don't know if classic games count. They probably shouldn't, but here's an offering anyway...my closest to a max game:

No they shouldn't. I've got perfect games from classic games, even ones I don't remember seeing from years ago but I don't count them in my tally of perfect 15 round games. The tally remains small.Junaid Mubeen wrote:I don't know if classic games count. They probably shouldn't, but here's an offering anyway...my closest to a max game:

Took about 700 games to get a couple lol. Both got 117/117. Odd.Junaid Mubeen wrote:

Indeed you're correct Kirk, 117 is not even. Just seen your 128/130 game which might as well have been max, it was that good. Freak. Surely a candidate for GOTW.Kirk Bevins wrote:Took about 700 games to get a couple lol. Both got 117/117. Odd.Junaid Mubeen wrote:

I got TELEOSTS just out of time which annoyed the hell out of me as I was speaking with my angling friend the other week that it was such a cool word. But thanks for your compliment/insult.Junaid Mubeen wrote: http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=20738

I know everybody expects Kirk's games to being amazing but to kill a series champion like this is quite amazing.

Can I put forward this game, purely on the fact that it was pretty close all the way until round 14 where it was tied:

I think people have said before, if Damian were to allow one person back who lost first time out, Kirk should be the number one candidate.Jimmy wrote:I know everybody expects Kirk's games to being amazing but to kill a series champion like this is quite amazing.

Re: Game of the Week nominations: 12 - 18 Jan
I doubt Kirk would ever be let on again, it would totally open the flood gates for everyone who lost with a mediocre score to have another go. I think it's fair in cases like Junaid's where a) it was a crucial conundrum b) they were very young. But I don't think Kirk should be let on again, and if he's honest I'm sure he'd agree.Gavin Chipper wrote:I think people have said before, if Damian were to allow one person back who lost first time out, Kirk should be the number one candidate.

I doubt I'd ever be let on again either (grammar?) as although I'd love to, Damian isn't going to send letters out to all those who were young and lost their first show is he - and I'm certainly not going to *ask* for another go.Charlie Reams wrote: I doubt Kirk would ever be let on again, it would totally open the flood gates for everyone who lost with a mediocre score to have another go. On a plus note, I was quite young (17) and lost to an octochamp and semi-finalist even though I was indeed shit.
