You know it’s an off day when two of the numbers cards are placed upside-down on the tray (as you can tell from the inverted Countdown logos). If they reveal an upside down 6 or 9 and you and thereby three 6s or 9s, what then?

I noticed it straight away and not for the first time.

They did, way back in the 1980s. One of the 6s was an upside-down 9.

And I notice when the cards are upside-down, it takes weeks of shows for someone to spot it and turn them over the correct way!

Rachel put bologne x on the board instead of BOLOGNA in R14 too.

I thought the DISCOS / DISCOES thing wasn't resolved very well. He went for DISCOS which Susie allowed but Rachel put DISCOES on the board. I don't think it was made explicit enough that both are allowed and he missed out by going for the shorter one.

Well I’ve seen it all. Also, agree re not making DISCOS (contestant answer) and DISCOES (DC answer) clear in shot.

Regarding Susie's Origins of Words, I say toilet or bog. Loo doesn't get a look in. Or a bogk in.
