A type of cheese in Round 4 - ASIAGO for 6.
Faraday was on in ‘95, and his letters was excellent. Very good standard in the first 13 rounds.

Was generally considered to be the GOAT until it unravelled a bit at the end.
Challenger was pretty decent too. High standard game for two new contestants.

They've been doing zoom auditions for a little while now, which must reduce the likelihood of cheating, as well as perhaps coming closer to studio pressure, so will be interesting to see if the standard generally improves and there's fewer of the "how did they pass" type contestants.

I have been wondering this for years, actually! Why couldn’t they just do the auditions on Zoom? Ever since I passed mine in 2017 I always thought with phone only, it was so flawed. If you can’t see the auditionee, what’s the point? You don’t audition your act for talent shows on a phone and hope you get through to the live shows!Fiona T wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 8:05 pm They've been doing zoom auditions for a little while now, which must reduce the likelihood of cheating, as well as perhaps coming closer to studio pressure, so will be interesting to see if the standard generally improves and there's fewer of the "how did they pass" type contestants.
Glad they’re doing Zoom auditions now, because it’s much easier to detect cheating. It shows how important casting is in all these game shows, which all need good contestants, winners or not.

I think that a zoom audition is a lot better and you like you said it reduces the likelihood of cheating, I did two face to face auditions when it was that and a phone audition in 2014.Fiona T wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 8:05 pm They've been doing zoom auditions for a little while now, which must reduce the likelihood of cheating, as well as perhaps coming closer to studio pressure, so will be interesting to see if the standard generally improves and there's fewer of the "how did they pass" type contestants.

It’s actually Google Meets rather than Zoom they do the auditions on. I got through mine the week before so should get on some time. You hope to be one of 2 new contestants rather than go up against someone like John Payne but I must say I didn’t do too well against either of the 2 in this show! An off day for me perhaps!Philip A wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 8:47 pmI have been wondering this for years, actually! Why couldn’t they just do the auditions on Zoom? Fair dos. Always thought the phone audition was a bad idea. You’ll improve with practice. Enjoy.Jon Stammers wrote: ↑Sat Jul 26, 2025 8:09 amIt’s actually Google Meets rather than Zoom they do the auditions on. I got through mine the week before so should get on some time.
