c-index
c-index
What is your c-index?
Your c-index is where you have attended co-events in n locations n times.
This is the number of co-events in different locations that you have done that number of times. So if you have done one co-event once then your c is 1. Two (different) co-events twice (each) two; Three (different) co-events three times (each) three – and so on. I think for the purposes of this, where there are multiple events over a weekend, that just counts as one.
So if you've been to Birmingham three times, Rugby twice, Milton Keynes three times and London once, your c-index is 2 - you've done 2 events 2 times.
Don't include hosting - that's your h-index - feel free to share that too!
What's yours?
Will go work mine out...

Re: c-index
assuming friday and sunday events don't count, just be whatever events have had a lot - done 12 at lincoln, 7 at mk, 7 at hudds, 5 at london, 5 at blackpool so that's a 5. fairly sure won't be any higher
cheers maus
Re: c-index
Think I've buggered myself with my on-the-fly invention of the h-index, ruling out one London and one MK.
So currently on 2, but will definitely be 3 after Blackpool (Lincoln 4, Birmingham 3 and assuming I do make it, Blackpool 3)
Edit: Forgot MSO - have done 3 of those, so am at 3 - sadly with its move to Mallorca I don't think it'll count towards reaching 4!

Re: c-index
I mean so far just one, but hope that number increases next year. For some reason I feel like there should be some equation for this.

Re: c-index
Looks like I've got 8 Lincoln, 8 London, 8 Reading, 4 Birmingham, 4 MK, 3 Bristol, 3 Braintree (and some smaller ones). So 4 so far, hopefully up to 5 next year

Re: c-index
Pretty sure I've been to all of Lincoln, London, MK and Braintree 4+ times so probably on 4.

Re: c-index
4 for me but could be 5 next year and possibly even 6 the following year.
10 Lincoln
7 MK (soon to be 8)
6 Huddersfield (or 7 if West Yorkshire counts)
5 Blackpool (soon to be 6)
4 London
4 Leeds
3 Birmingham (or 4 if Wolverhampton counts)
4 Newcastle if Whitley Bay and Durham count
10 Lincoln
7 MK (soon to be 8)
6 Huddersfield (or 7 if West Yorkshire counts)
5 Blackpool (soon to be 6)
4 London
4 Leeds
3 Birmingham (or 4 if Wolverhampton counts)
4 Newcastle if Whitley Bay and Durham count

Re: c-index
London 4 (counting cobliv 1 but not cobliv 2 where my stomach inverted itself before the event started)
Leeds 4 (counting goat leeds)
Edinburgh 3
Lincoln 3
All other events 2 or fewer so I get a score of 3 even discounting the caveats above.
Edit: the above is 'played', obviously. If 'attended' means 'was physically present even if not playing' London goes up to 5, MK jumps in at 3, Birmingham is 4 (5 if you include Wolverhampton), Nottingham comes in at 5 and Lincoln jumps up to 19 or 29 depending on how you count it.

Re: c-index
Lincoln/Blackpool - 5
Birmingham (counting the "Brums" as Birmingham) - 4
Manchester/Milton Keynes - 3
Everything else (discounting hosting) is 2 or under.
So 3 atm but by the end of the year, hopefully FOCAL Finals means Milton Keynes can push me up to 4.

Re: c-index
I think 2 London, about 3 St Albans and about 3 Hangovers in North Hykeham. So my c-index is 2. About half of those were as observer rather than player.

Re: c-index
you haven't been since adam vs octochamp (what will there be more of at a co event) was vaguely a thing. Admittedly you'd be useless whether you turn up to an event at this anyway other than statpaddingAdam Gillard wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 9:50 pm I think 2 London, about 3 St Albans and about 3 Hangovers in North Hykeham. Re: c-index
I took it to mean that, as there are a few people called Adam who attend co-events, there is now some game called "adam vs octochamp" where you count the number of Adams and the number of octochamps at an event and see which number is higher.
That makes sense of the "statpadding" comment too, as you are both an Adam and an octochamp.
My instinct is that octochamp will always win though. I don't feel like there's often more than 4 or 5 people at any one event with the same name. But there's normally more than 4 or 5 octochamps at every co-event.

You'd be surprised. this year the octochamps have started demolishing but there were a few close calls and draws in 2022Callum Todd wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 9:13 pm
