Re: Spoilers for Friday 15th of February
I must admit I did my usual miss-a-letter-of-the-end-of-a-word thing again where I only came up with ROMANCE and didn't think of adding the 'D' to get ROMANCED .David O'Donnell wrote:and GIAOURS, GOPURAS and RAGTOPS .... and probably a few more but I couldn't get a 7 though I did think that RAPTIOUS^ was a real word for an instant

In that last letters round, where they only got 4, can you not have AMRIT which is the stuff Sikhs drink?

AMRIT is fine. There was an 8 in the BBEELOORR round but I wont say it as I used a solver

after failing to find better than 870 (25x(8/2)*8+10*7) I used a solver, but apparently that's the best you can do

Re: Spoilers for Friday 15th of February
Has 4 pairs of letters (R12) happened before ?
Are letter pairs coming out more often recently ?
There were also 3 pairs in R7 and a couple of rounds with 2 pairs (as well as the 3 I's in R 9)

It happened in my 6th game, when the letters were MORESORES [although I don't think they were in that order].rayfolwell wrote:Has 4 pairs of letters (R12) happened before ?

Re that 8 in round 11:
BOERBOEL -some sort of South African dog, as I discovered when I checked the version I had come up with which excluded the second 'o', and which I would not have risked, due to what turned out to be justified confidence in my inability to spell the word!
