Have to say, I think Colin is a great choice as a temp host.

Definitely not Jamie McNeill or Schrodinger's Cat....

To be honest, I think I misplayed my hand in the audition by wanting to talk money first and not wearing any shoes. Ah well. Next time.

Colin is a great choice and is probably who I would have gone for. (Sorry, Mark.)
Re: Nick Hewer taking break from Countdown
If I have understood correctly, Colin's first episode will be Monday 21st December and he will continue for some of the next series.
A great opportunity for him and I hope he does a great job!

I presume there will be a lack of continuity as I understood a few S83 episodes had already been filmed? So Colin for the specials, then a few Nick, then more Colin.
Nice that he got to practice on you lot first Big Colin fan here - very friendly when he was in DC for my run, and always makes the effort to like or reply to tweets.

Those with long memories may recall that Channel 4 has announced a “black takeover day” which will showcase black talent to “kickstart a fresh push for greater on- and off-screen representation”. Is this perhaps a missed opportunity? Aren't appointments like this precisely the problem they are supposedly addressing?
