This guy is pretty good at spotting stuff, too bad he keeps declaring made-up words.

Why did Des call him Danielle at the beginning?

Because he's lost his mind.
Does anyone else think Daniel looks like Tim from The Office?

This guy would be great on a Mornington Crescent style Countdown in which you invoke the authority of imaginary dictionaries.

3rd Numbers Alt: ((5 + 6 + 3 - 1) x 8) + 75 = 179 I think.

3rd numbers game: (75 x 3) - ((8 x 5) + 6) = 225 - 46 = 179

Ah, yes. This would be the episode where I drifted off and thought about the last numbers game while Paul Zenon was talking, only to be asked to help pick a card. Good times.
Dan didn't get his Myspace sorted out! It's got a little bit more than just pictures of his cat now, but he didn't get music up in time (unless I'm being an idiot who can't work Myspace).

He must have been looking at Danielle, the runner.

Is duelist allowed for an equaliser?

That's the American spelling, I'm afraid. You need two Ls over here.

It was an okay trick, but it would've been funny if someone picked something they wern't meant to pick

I think it was a word just to describe the selection as it contained a Q, W and K etc IIRC. Daniel had a brilliant spot in that round with AWOKEN.

You can have DUALIST though - see apterous! RORTIEST is a nice equaller in round 1 but ROOTIEST=TORTOISE was a great spot from Martin today. I missed AWOKEN and ONESELF today - the two rounds the challenger beat me on (AWOKEN and FENNELS, hmmm - let's not get into that) so good spots there. I thought he was quite a good challenger so not sure what happened half way through.
Loads of 8s in round 7 like ANTISERA, SANTERIA etc so I won't bore you. Oh, MENUDOS for round 12 and LUXATES/LUXATED for round 13. Not exciting letters today in my opinion. Still - another good win and I'm sure Martin is annoyed he didn't get a century. Looked like he was just behind on the conundrum.

I'm not sure Richard would have been a dualist even at his most rorty.

Maybe he was thinking about Countdown's unit assistant...
