875 = 50 × 7 × (8 − 6) × 5 ÷ 4
Maybe Rachel saw this late. Can't help thinking that multiplying by 2 and dividing by 4 is a sub-optimal solution.

Maybe showboating? It was basically 50/2 × 35. If you're not showboating you'd divide by 2 first and never go above the target. Maybe she did see it late although it's of the type I'd expect her to get quickly.David Williams wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2017 9:55 pm 875 = 50 × 7 × (8 − 6) × 5 ÷ 4

I did 50 x 35 / (8/4). I knew I couldn't do 35/2 but never thought of dividing 50 by 2 first!Gavin Chipper wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2017 10:34 pmMaybe showboating? It was basically 50/2 × 35. So I guess I was showboating, but not as much as Rachel, lol. I did think about doing 4 x 50 x 35 / 8 though but probably wouldn't have submitted it that way!

Had UNRIDDLE as a beater in R11 but I wasn't sure if I should have risked it, and I didn't. :/

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 13 June 2017
Looks like MATEY now has a variant form MATY. So by standard English rules, MATIES would be the plural.
But if (as Susie implied) the dictionary doesn't explicitly give the plural, then according to something we were told once upon a time the plural would be MATYS. Unless it's changed since that time....
