I'm split between wanting to know what happened to make Rachel want a divorce, and not wanting to stoop to the level of following celebrity gossip.

Don't see where it says divorce other than the anagram deliberately designed to allure. A split is not necessarily a divorce.

I'm sure Rachel and Jamie could do without the gutter press giving their tuppence worth at this difficult time. As far as I can tell, the word 'divorce' is a figment of The Sun editorial team's collective imagination.

I bet Dylan is absolutely thrilled knowing that everyone who reads that article now knows that he's autistic, I know if my mental disorders were made public in that sort of way I'd be pretty fucked off as a lot of other apterites that are in the same boat

I'm probably going to get chastised for saying this, but if you compare the Mail now to two years ago then it's come on a long way. It's no longer gay-bashing, Muslim-smearing, and woman-hating...

Gays and Muslims (or any other religion, for that matter) are polar opposites, so I'm not sure how they can be consistent on that.

I quite like the Daily Mail,
The cryptic crossword is both challenging and acheivable and it's probably the highest quality newspaper I can hold without ruining the pages when I try and turn a page over.

When that article is equally likely to have been published if the singer was male, then you might have the beginnings of a point.Rhys Benjamin wrote:Exhibit A: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... riage.htmlJennifer Steadman wrote:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh you weren't joking.Rhys Benjamin wrote:if you compare the Mail now to two years ago then it's come on a long way. The Daily Mail and dailymail.co.uk are two different worlds. One reacts with horror at every degraded X Factor performance and launches into campaigns to "ban this filth". The other provides soft porn you can read on your computer during work lunch breaks.
Would the print version ever publish this?

Interesting bit of news relating to PP. I was in the audience for this episode as it happens, not plugging FOCAL, as it happens.

Re: Countdown in the news
Etc. Insane stuff. The Countdown community talent keeps coming through.Countdown presenter Rachel Riley was left "in genuine fear for her personal safety" after receiving death threats from a former contestant who developed a menacing grudge. Laura Greenwood made it to the quarter finals of the Channel 4 game show before being sectioned, after which the convicted arsonist began bombarding online fan forums with vile posts.
These criticised the programme for descending into "kid's stuff and b****cks" and accused a long serving producer of being a paedophile and a "slimy weirdo". A string of further abusive messages then threatened it was a "question of when, not if" he and Ms Riley would be murdered, with one ranting diatribe stating: "When I'm ready, it's him and Riley first and then as many as I can possibly take before I go to prison."

I miss the days when a Countdowner getting sectioned just meant a nice 18 points
Re: Countdown in the news
Could well be part of the reason why there's no desire to bring back studio audiences.

Re: Countdown in the news
Probably, but it’s a cost-cutting exercise as well which is the main reason. This is wholesale on all these quiz shows now, except Catsdown, Millionaire, Beat The Chasers and Blankety Blank which have visible audiences. Apparently, Fifteen-to-One did have an audience from Series 1-3 but William G Stewart wouldn’t allow it because they were murmuring the answers! I could hear the audience murmuring when the clock was running in the shows I watched while I was a contestant.

The Lemonheads are currently on tour. Reviews have been mixed to say the least, but overall have been nothing but complimentary about support act The Bevis Frond, whose frontman Nick Salomon was a semi-finalist in the early 90s

Not exactly news, per se, but Innis Carson just finished a very impressive 15th in the British Quiz Championships. Smart man. Ian Volante was 37th, also really good. I was, uh, a wee bit lower than that.
