Round 1: N S B I O U Y E C

C1: BISON (5)
C2: BOUNCES (7)
DC: BUNCOES (7)
Score: 0–7 (max 7)

A very good start by Joolz, as he BOUNCES over Tia's BISON and into the early lead.

Round 2: D J O A T G E A I

C1: goated
C2: goated
DC: DOTAGE (6) GODETIA (7)
Score: 0–7 (max 14)

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad move there by the girls. You can't GOAT someone, well not yet anyway. Meanwhile, DC pick yet another GODETIA from the bunch. 8-)

Round 3: S T S E O U N R K

C1: ROUTES (6)
C2: SOUREST (7)
DC: STONKERS (8) SUNSTROKE (18)
Score: 0–14 (max 32)

It's not Tia's day so far, as Joolz doubles her lead, while Tia stays on zero. A super impressive 9 by DC, I have to say. 8-)

Round 4: R N E A O X C T I

C1: REACTION (8)
C2: coater
DC: RECOAT (6) CREATION (8) ANOREXIC (8)
OT: ACTIONER (8) EXACTION (8)
Score: 8–14 (max 40)

Plenty of 8's here, and Tia gets one of them to get off the mark, while Joolz can only find an invalid 6.

Round 5: 100, 25, 2, 8, 4, 3. Target: 423.

C1: 423. (100 x 4) + 25 - 2 (10)
C2: 423. (100 x 4) + 25 - 2 (10)
Score: 18–24 (max 50)

Nice and simple. NEXT..............

Matt talks about a master criminal who wanted to steal the Mona Lisa, but not want to keep it....... :? Instead, he made forgeries of them to make himself a good bit of dough.

Teatime teaser: GETSNEAR -> ESTRANGE

Round 6: N T E B O E H M A

C1: BENEATH (7)
C2: BEATEN (6)
DC: HAMBONE (7)
OT: BOATMEN (7) METHANE (7)
Score: 25–24 (max 57)

The Tia turnaround is complete, as she now takes the lead with a repeat of her winner in round 3 from Friday.

Round 7: W C V I U A R T I

C1: VICAR (5)
C2: curv
DC: TRIVIA (6)
Score: 30–24 (max 63)

A religious offering from Tia, as Joolz pulls off an illegal curv manoeuvre. :P Questions being answered by DC too. :P

Round 8: D L A E S A O G N

C2: DOSAGE (6)
DC: DONGLES (7) GONADS (6) LASAGNE (7)
OT: SELADANG (8)
Score: 37–24 (max 71)

Hmmm, Matt's perfect night involves DONGLES, GONADS and a LASAGNE............ I think I'd rather ride a darrenic SELADANG. :P

A SELADANG is another name for the gaur, a massive wild ox, Bibos gaurus, of southeastern Asia and the Malay Archipelago, growing to a height of 6 feet (1.8 metres) at the shoulder.

Round 9: F D R I E D C U P

C2: FIRED (5)
DC: PRIDED (6) PRIDE (5) FRIED (5) CRIED (5)
OT: PERCID (6)
Score: 43–24 (max 77)

Tia has turned into a wrecking ball in this "half", as Joolz is still stuck on 24. Clearly PRICED out. :P

Susie's Origins Of Words talks about the origins of "maudlin".

Round 10: 75, 100, 50, 9, 8, 5. Target: 709.

C1: 708. ((9 + 5) x 50) + 8 (7)
C2: 711.
RR: 709. (8 x 75) + 100 + 9 (10)
Score: 50–24 (max 87)

Easier than it looks, thanks to our Rach. Tia carries on where she left off, as she now has a lead of 26 points.

Teatime teaser: SLURFREE -> FERRULES

Oh dear, elementary 9's and even the legendary 8's are missed by the contestants.  :o :o

Round 12: D E F L P O I A M

C1: MAILED (6)
C2: FOILED (6)
DC: IMPLODE (7) IMPALED (7)
OT: DIPLOMA (7) IMPLEAD (7)

DC IMPLODEd and IMPALED. I think I'll leave them be.............

Round 13: R N T E O E V I L

C1: VIOLENT (7)
C2: lovier
OT: OVERLIE (7) RELIEVO (7) RETINOL (7) VEINLET (7)
Score: 70–37 (max 119)

Tia has wrapped up the game with her VIOLENT 7, clearly carrying on from the last round. :P

RELIEVO is prominence, distinctness, or vividness due to contrast.

Round 14: 25, 50, 75, 7, 5, 8. Target: 984.

C1: 985. ((75 + 25) x (50 / 5)) - 8 - 7 (7)
C2: 985. ((25 - 5) x 50) - 8 - 7 (7)
RR: 984. (75 + 50 - (7 - 5)) x 8 (10)
Score: 77–44 (max 129)

Both contestants get 1 away with their differing, yet similar solutions. Rachel is yet again called up to provide the answer.

Round 15: C R U S H A H I P

C1 buzzes on 11 seconds to say PUSHCHAIR which is correct.
Final Score: 87–44 (max 139)

I remember getting this conundrum as the host at CoBliv, so I got it straight away. :geek:

But, Tia gets it too, making it 2 conundrums out of 6, and 487 points out of her 6 wins, so far. She just needs to win 2 more to provisionally book her place in the end of year finals.

Join me tomorrow to see if she can get her magnificent 7. 8-)

So, till then, bye bye. ;) :) :D

102-67 against Tia
112-17 against Joolz - which I felt quite bad about as I liked her...
Possibly the first contestant to accelerate with a mic clipped...
