Countdown Ticket Procedures - December 2011

I might be in the UK in late December\early January and want to see Countdown live. I have sent an email to Saralee Mullan, who is listed on the Channel 4 website as the audience coordinator for Countdown. As she has yet to reply, I thought I'd run my questions by the "experts":

How does one obtain tickets to Countdown? Where is the show taped (I've heard Manchester, but don't know for sure or what studio)? Will there be tapings during that time period?

Could anybody help me here? Thanks a lot!

The reason that Saralee might not have replied is because of the upcoming change of host, and since the replacement hasn't yet been named, they obviously don't know when they can film.

You are right that it's in Manchester, the Granada Studios to be exact. And unless they want to delay the next series, there is almost guaranteed to be some recordings in December/January.

Thanks James. Saralee has since emailed me back and stated that they won't be taping at all in December...but January is a possibility...

My next question would have been "Who would be the host be if I were to go?" but I get the feeling the answer is "We don't know."
