Hypothetical music question

Post by Jason Larsen »

If Bruce Forsyth were to come on Sesame Street and sing his song "I'm Not Anyone," which muppet would you like to see him sing it with.

Were Sesame Street characters also called Muppets? I guess they were, I've just never thought about them that way.
As such, I've gone for Kermit as he's the only one I think of as a "Muppet" and the one most likely to feel that he is "Not Anyone" if he was hanging around with Sesame Street people.

I always thought they were, then somebody in an argument convinced me that they weren't. But it turns out I was intuitively right!

I voted Big Bird but I don't really know why.

I went for Big Bird because Kermit pisses me right off, and Cookie Monster depresses me.

Which means the Cookie Monster vote must have been Charlie.

I went for CM too - does he sing like a death metal vocalist?

I see most of you voted for Big Bird!

Cookie Monster would probably sing, "Me Not Anyone" anyway.

Charlie, I will not post any more new topics this month.

Yep - the Muppet Show was a spin-off from Sesame Street.

But the Muppet Show was canceled. Sesame Street is still going strong here.

Superb. 8-) A couple of our best friends arranged for that to be played at their civil partnership - one more layer of meaning added to an already richly textured song. Not a dry eye in the house.

Is there anywhere online I can hear this song? I'm pretty intrigued. I have a mate who does a great Kermit impression too so I could totally hook you up with a make believe duet.

I already uploaded and linked earlier in the thread.

EDIT: Oops, sorry, it was the other thread about Bruce's songs, in the "Other game shows" forum I think.
