Re: Spoilers for Wednesday, 10th September
I got ENSNARED, ACCOSTING, and POLEAXING which I was very pleased about. Scored 114 against Debbi but she put the conundrum past me!
Julian corner: Didn't get any of the numbers today. Was always 1 or 2 away. And I spotted ORALIST but not MORALIST and was fuming about FUNNEST not being there!
This new guy seems good. I think he scored in every round except the conundrum and I thought MARGATE was an impressive spot.

Yes. Well done Debbi. Congratulations on getting to number 1. I've not yet seen your final game, nor read the spoilers above - I'll probably watch it later this morning. Comforting (for me at any rate, in view of our forthcoming game) to know that you can be beaten; I'll watch that final game with particular interest now, hoping to pick up tips.
I'm quite confident that you'll make the finals; it'll take a minimum of 48 games to find eight people to get past you, and I believe there are just 66 left, including the first game of the guy who beat you yesterday.

I've not been paying full attention but it seemed like Debbi's performance dropped off massively on Tuesday and Wednesday from what I saw, bit of a shame really.
Hopefully Debbi will play nearer her best assuming she makes it back for the finals - could be a dangerous lower seed.

If I had to take a guess, given the number of games left and Charlie's appearance-to-be, I'd say Debbi will end up about seed number 4 or 5.Craig Beevers wrote:could be a dangerous lower seed.

Hi - This is my first post
I managed to get serenade in the first round and managed to get the conundrum on sight.
Well done Debbi - a very good contestant. I can understand that she probably got tired towards the end of the day as the recording is very intense and mentally draining.
Allan.

Welcome to the board and thanks for the comments. Yes, filming is quite intense and does take it out of you but that's no excuse, Mike was just too good for me on the day. Well done on the conundrum. Have fun on the forum and don't worry, they don't bite - well they do but not too hard!
She came, she saw - oh well, at least she tried!

Well done Debbi. I thought you'd win 8, but I was impressed with the guy that beat you. I have been catching up having been on holiday and haven't watched his next match but I would think he could be on for 8 wins.
I thought Monday was your best performance (mainly because you beat me! , but you were solid throughout. Good luck for the series finals which I am sure you will make.

There weren't enough Es for SERENADE
Re: Spoilers for Wednesday, 10th September
I only watched Wednesday's episode a few hours ago. Sad, Debbi, that you lost, but at least Mike was a worthy opponent.
I hope that the others are right with their stats that you're likely to be in the finals anyway.
I solved round 14 this way:
25x4=100
100-(9-5)=96
96x10=960
960+7=967

Never mind, Allan. I spotted POLEAXING, but spelt it POLAXING!Jon Corby wrote:Hi, this is my 783rd post.aagharmer wrote:Hi - This is my first post

I only knew it was a 9 because I'd seen it come up before, but still couldn't remember if it was POLAXEING or POLEAXING. Took me the whole 30 seconds to remember correctly which one it was.Julie T wrote:I spotted POLEAXING, but spelt it POLAXING!

Only just seen the game after returning from holiday, bad luck Debbi but you came up against a good player and I can certainly relate to you feeling a bit drained by then.You looked as though you enjoyed yourself, you played very well, the best female contestant for some time and I'm sure we'll see you in the finals.
