Spoilers for The Deeks-Day Landing (Thursday 21st July 2011)
Hello everyone. Today is a very special day for Mark Deeks.
Today he will surely become an octochamp and the only outcome worth speculating is whether he'll score a score scorey enough to overtake Graeme Cole as #x seed.
By the way, has anyone else been trying to construct a Marc Meakin / Mark's Deeking joke and not quite managed it? (I'm mainly looking at you here, Corby)

Just to remind you all, he needs 116 to become the #1 seed, which will be tricky, considering that his highest score to date is 114.Matt Morrison wrote:the only outcome worth speculating is whether he'll score a score scorey enough to overtake Graeme Cole as #x seed.
He only need 102 to join the 800 club, though.

BIFACE and PIGFACE in the round where they only got five. I'm a proper spoiler thread geek (or deek) now.

The 116 is looking pretty realistic at the moment.
Edit: Reached it with ease. Great performance today saving the best until last. Great run and the finals are taking shape quite nicely already early on. Good luck for them!

GALIOTS in round 8, FLOREAT and LEVATOR in round 9 and TOPMEN in round 13 (which I thought I made up )
Very impressive again, Mark. A very good octochamp, these finals are definitely shaping up nicely now.

Really enjoyed the run - congratulations to Mark. Lesley went from looking cross once she started to lose rounds, to a look of resignation, once she realised she didn't have a hope against the Deekstroyer.
Oh, and GAMENESS in the MESSAGED round, I think.

Congratulations Mark, a great run, especially that last game. A thoroughly deserved #1 spot.
I'll have to hope that if we meet in the finals you haven't got any better at 6 small.

I actually got up early enough to catch the 2nd half of the stream of this game -- but then FF wouldn't load the streaming utility correctly, and IE8 crashed my computer, so I only got to see about half a round of this game.
I was Deeksappoint
But congrats, and seeing how you managed a 116+, excellent game. I'll have to catch the recap when it's put up.

Thanks for spoiling the fact that Mark wins his first seven games by having a specific (but admittedly amusing) thread title.
EDIT: I'm sure it wasn't deliberate, but felt I ought to make the point, nevertheless.
