Round 1: D N E A T F N I L

C1: FAINTED (7)
C2: INFLATED (8)
DC: DEFIANT (7)
OT: DENTINAL (8)
Score: 0–8 (max 8)

Graeme strikes the first blow
DENTINAL relates to dentine, part of a tooth.
Round 2: D M T E A E S D A

C1: MADDEST (7)
C2: STEAMED (7)
DC: SEDATED (7) DEADEST (7)
Score: 7–15 (max 15)

FLat 7's all round

Round 3: E I B N M E C O R

C1: RECOMBINE (18)
C2: RECOMBINE (18)
Score: 25–33 (max 33)

A fairly simple 9 spot from both.

Round 4: T R S U A E S M U

C1: STREAMS (7)
C2: MATURES (7)
DC: MASSEUR (7) MUSTERS (7) UTERUS (6)
OT: AUTEURS (7) MASTERS (7) STRUMAE (7) STUMERS (7) SUTURES (7) TRUMEAU (7)
Score: 32–40 (max 40)

Extremely flat round there with 10 different 7's to choose from.
A STRUMA is another term for a goitre. A STUMER is a forgery or cheat, or here in Ireland, a stupid person. A TRUMEAU (pl TRUMEAUX) is an architectural feature.

Round 5: 100, 8, 4, 3, 9, 6. Target: 442.

C1: 442. ((100+9)*4)+6 (10)
C2: 442. ((100+9)*4)+6 (10)
Score: 42–50 (max 50)

Both players have this solved well within the time.

In the Guest spot, Shobna talks about how she recently had to became a biker as it's apparently the only viable method of transport in Lesotho, where she's invovled with an AIDS charity. Shame to see in the news that she's been forced to quit Twitter because of racist abuse.

Teatime teaser: NOTCHEAP -> CENOTAPH
Clue:"This recognises those who paid a heavy price."
I'm guessing that this teaser was originally meant to go out yesterday.

Round 6: V N L A I E M Y L

C1: VENIALLY (8)
C2: LIVELY (6)
DC: NAIVELY (7)
Seems that Liam is lucky not to have gone for menially^ which has been removed from the ODE3 (thanks Mike)
Score: 50–50 (max 58)

A good spot from Liam brings the scores back level again. Graeme had better look LIVELY if he wants to keep his nose in front.

Round 7: R D T U A G S O T

C1: GROUTS (6)
C2: RAGOUTS (7)
OT: TAUTOGS (7)
Score: 50–57 (max 65)

.....which he does by spotting one of the two 7's available.

Round 8: N H C E U I R G D

C1: HERDING (7)
C2: EUCHRING (8)
DC: REDUCING (8)
Score: 50–65 (max 73)

EUCHRING is described by Susie as gaining advantage over another player in the card game Euchre. Graeme has certainly gained an advantage here.

Round 9: W A K I A P N T I

C1: PAINT (5)
C2: PINATA (6)
DC: WAPITI (6)
OT: KAWAII (6) PATINA (6) TAIPAN (6)
Score: 50–71 (max 79)

A sweet six for Graeme moves him even further ahead.
KAWAII, it seems, is a Japanese term for overcuteness, or as one article put it:"Japan's global image has shifted from being known for austere rock gardens to being known for "cute-worship""

In OoW Susie talks about EPONYMS, citing Mata Hari as an example.
Round 10: 10, 6, 1, 7, 4, 2. Target: 604.

C1: 604. ((7+2+1)*6*10)+4 (10)
C2: 604. ((7+2+1)*6*10)+4 (10)
Score: 60–81 (max 89)

Another straightforward numbers.

Teatime teaser: REDASTER -> ARRESTED
Clue:"Taken away with a bit of heart trouble, perhaps."
Marcs court case doesn't start 'til next Monday.

Round 11: A Z S E P N G A R

C1: PRANGS (6)
C2: PRANGS (6)
DC: PANZERS (7)
OT: PERGANAS (8)
Score: 66–87 (max 97)

PERGANA (alt. PARGANA): administrative district of India under the Moguls.

Round 12: L C R I E A T W O

C1: RECITAL (7)
C2: LORICATE (8)
DC: EROTICA (7)
Score: 66–95 (max 105)

LORICATE is defined by Susie as having a protective covering of plates or scales. Graemes' lead certainly looks armour-plated now. Shobna offers some EROTICA in DC.

Round 13: U L R N A O V D I

C1: DIURNAL (7)
C2: DIURNAL (7)
DC: ORDINAL (7) URINAL (6)
OT: NODULAR (7)
Score: 73–102 (max 112)

Flat 7's all round confirm Graemes win. Liam doesn't seem too pissed off though.

Round 14: 25, 3, 9, 10, 8, 2. Target: 742.

C1: 742. (3*10*25)-8 (10)
C2: 742. (3*10*25)-8 (10)
Score: 83–112 (max 122)

Third straightforward numbers.

Round 15: T A L L R A N G Y

C1 buzzes on 4 seconds to say GALLANTRY which is correct.
Final Score: 93–112 (max 132)

Liam was very unfortunate to lose with a score of 93 (There can't be too many members of the 90+ losers club). He signs off with a mention that his unusual hobby* is photographing ugly buildings in beautiful cities. Maybe if he comes back for the finals we could have a list of nominations for him. If he's ever in Dublin, a visit to Wood Quay is a must.

*is this now a prerequisite for getting on the show?

Sadly, MENIALLY has been removed from the book... have updated the wiki entry accordingly.

Also, a PERGANA is the same thing as a PARGANA.
