It's fairly common, a lot more common than the obscure chemical terms we come up with on this forum. In fact Stewart Holden got it against me in an online game yonks ago.

I had thought I played well today until I saw the recap, wd Corby btw for doing it manually.

Well, I suppose the more unusual the better, because then I could add it to my increasing vocab :D (like with EXORDIA and FEIJOA(DA)). It's a Scrabble word too also, so I could even use it as an 8-letter bingo play :D.

There's a lot more to it than just rehosting.

Is EVOLUTE allowed? I vaguely recall someone playing it against me in an online game and having it disallowed.

evolute (also evolute curve) noun Mathematics a curve which is the locus of the centres of curvature of another curve (its involute).
Whatever the fuck all that means. New one on me too.

Plus, for those that don't know (like me) and are interested:
revolute adjective Botany (especially of the edge of a leaf) curved or curled back.

Here are my thoughts on the game:

Des, what the heck is a bunny lot? You're a great guy, but I don't understand that!

Jonny, why would you go to Newcastle University and live in Leeds? If I were you, I wouldn't do that because I have always loved my family.

In round 4, for a word, I would have had the name of a very popular Teletubby! Des would have snorted his buns off if he would have heard that!

In round 8, for a word, I had mantra too! A very wordy word. I wonder who here has a stuffed cow.

What an appropriate Countdown conundrum! Alex is "currently" the champion, and I am very happy about that!

You've confused me, Jason. Do you mean you'd never go to university or you'd never leave home?

In Britain, there are relatively few universities and very few people go to university in their home town. This is rather different to the US.
