Re: Dog Eat Dog Tournament May-June 2011 - apply here
There is only one outstanding fixture from R32, so I went ahead with the random draw for R16. Here it is:
A) James Bradley v Ryan Taylor
B) James Nguyen v Marcus Hares
C) Kai Laddiman v Kirk Bevins
D) Liam Tiernan v James Robinson OR Nick Deller
E) Scott Gillies v Thomas Cappleman
F) Oliver Garner v Innis Carson
G) Jim Bentley v Ben Wilson
H) Hugh Binnie v Chris Hare
Seeing as you all seem so keen, I'm bringing the deadline for R16 matches forward to Sunday 22 May. This still allows the original 2 weeks for matches to be played. As ever, if everyone finishes their matches in advance of the deadline, I'll bring forward the fixtures for the next round. I'll give a little leeway to Fixture D in lieu of the R32 match between James Robinson and Nick Deller being incomplete. The provisional schedule for the tournament will be updated in the original post. Let me know if you have any questions.
Edit: I've added these matches to the tournament system (Fixture D will be added upon completion of the outstanding R32 fixture). Matches are still best of 1 at this stage.

Quality game that. Tiernan - Robinson added to the tournament system.
As all 32 entrants have played at least one game and all R32 matches have been completed, the waiting list is now redundant. Sorry Sophie.
The draw for the quarter-finals will take place on Monday 23 May or when all R16 matches are complete (if that happens first).

Re: Dog Eat Dog Tournament May-June 2011 - apply here
With only one outstanding fixture from R16 (which had an extended deadline anyway), I have conducted the draw for the quarter-finals of the Dog Eat Dog tournament. The fixtures are best-of-3 (this has been automated in the system) and will proceed thusly:
A) Innis Carson v James Nguyen
B) Kirk Bevins v Scott Gillies
C) Chris Hare v Ben Wilson
D) James Robinson v Ryan Taylor
I'll add fixture D to the system when the line-up is confirmed.
Edit: James R beat Liam, so it's James R v Ryan in the quarters.
Happy Dogging!
Edit: Please try to finish your QF matches by 28 May 2011.

Two quarter-final matches left to be played. You know who you are. I'll give a couple of days leeway if necessary due to the aptocrash this week.

Yeah that's fine Chris and Ben. Scott's just sent another message to Kirk, so hopefully it'll all get done soon and we can move on to the semi-finals. Remember that these matches are best of 3.

A reminder - the semi-finals are best-of-3 matches again; the final will be best-of-5. Please try to finish your semi-final matches by the end of Sunday 5 June 2011.

Our semi was planned for pretty much now but problems with apterous have resulted in it not happening as yet (batsignal has been sent out).

Re: Dog Eat Dog Tournament May-June 2011 - apply here
Congratulations to Innis Carson and Scott Gillies who each won their respective semi-finals 2-0 and will contest the best-of-5 final. I'll add this match to the tournament system once Charlie approves the "Dog Eat Dog - Final" tournament thingy (I had to make a new one to incorporate the best-of-5-ness). There's not really going to be a deadline for completing this match (basically just play it when you can), but I'll say 30 April 2012 just to make sure it's finished in time if I run a tournament the same time next year.
Innis / Scott, if you happen to decide a time to play these games in advance, could you post it on this forum so that people will have the opportunity to spectate? I'll update this post as soon as the match has been added to the system.
Edit: The final match is now in the system and ready to go whenever you are.

By Scott's own admission, Innis was just too good for him in the speedier rounds and emerged victorious by a scoreline of 3-0 in the final. So congratulations to Innis Carson, Champion of Dog Eat Dog 2011, and to Scott Gillies, the Runner-up. There are no prizes
If you have taken part in this tournament, I would appreciate your feedback and ideas how it could be improved. I may well run another tournament in May 2012, but I haven't yet decided whether it will follow the same format. In any case, any comments or suggestions can be posted in this thread so that anyone can discuss them. If there is a pressing / private matter, then send me a PM.
I hope those who participated and spectated enjoyed my maiden tournament. Thanks to all of you for helping it to run smoothly and finish ahead of schedule.
