So, it was check mate for Roger yesterday, meaning not only that his chances of appearing in the finals have gone, but he won't play his best friend tomorrow (if we're to believe what Tony says ).
That means that Joe Jenkinson will now try to do what Roger couldn't and try and get into the finals. Can he make it 2 out of 2 today

Also Roger was relieved as his 8th show would have been the first show recorded the following day (14th April )
and he was scheduled to drive from Stoke to Perth in order to sell stamps at a fair. (Luckily Manchester
is just about on the route so he could have managed it. )
I thought Jennifer had blown it on the second numbers when she forgot the "plus 5" to complete
her declaration - if you wanted to do 6 times 100 then take the 4 off first. Lots of methods
possible on the last one including making the 13 a different way so you have 8 and left over
after multiplying the 25. Not sure how she saw the conundrum so quick, but looking forward
to seeing her and Roger's friend on tomorrow.

I don't find him any more annoying than most Countdown guests, in fact I quite like him. I thought his little segway into UNUSABLE was quite clever. At least he can pronounce the words which already puts him ahead of a couple of past guests.
PS NEURULAS in the opening round.
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

I think he thinks that his links and spelling out of the thought process are clever, but they're just tedious and contrived. And anyway, I would hope he knows how to pronounce words, as that's the main qualification for his day job. Sorry, I'm still a grumpy old man.
