Subtitling errors
On today's show, the subtitles stated that DC got HOMMAGE, even though: that's not how the word's spelt there was only one M in the selection it was clear from that very sentence that they were talking about 6-letter words What on earth is wrong with whoever writes the subtitles? I just found this FB group , which has only two members. But neither of them gets a single hit either here or on the wiki. Does anyone here remember any contestant by either of those names? INSOFAR was accepted, not for the first time, on yesterday's show. I'm made to wonder: How exactly does the ODE list this word? I wonder because it seems to me that it exists only as "insofar as", not as a word in its own right. Generally, pseudowords like this haven't been accepted - for ...

What actually was the point of Martin's piece? 50% off is obviously the same as BOGOF, and 75% extra is obviously less than 100% extra. I just couldn't see the catch. What Susie said about REPUTING seems contradictory. She told us that REPUTE as a verb exists, but only in the passive. But if it's only in the passive, surely it's not a verb at all, but just the adjective REPUTED. To claim that such a verb as REPUTE exists, you need to be able to use it as it is as...
