I said to my hubby that he must be an Apterite with spots like that! Did he have spots? I didn't notice any :D Arran's slow start may have caused Sandra to stick with her 7 in the 'retrials' round, thus helping Arran. The conundrum was pretty exciting. Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 5th June 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 104)

Today's challenger and I share the same passion (of sorts)...., the only difference is that he has done it....   http://wiki.apterous.org/Mick_Purdie Interesting. Also, I saw that one of the lexicographers in his games was Hania Porucznik. I wasn't sure I recognised the name, but...

Re: Spoilers for 30th May 2018

Alternative to Round 6 which is SO MUCH easier and uses all the Numbers: (25 x 5 x 4) - (6 x (9 - 7)) Alternative to Round 14: (75 x 8) - ((10 + 6) x 4) I'm starting to like Jan as a contestant! She so keeps us entertaining with her humourous style! And on a sidenote, I'm so glad both contestants d...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 14th May 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 89)

As I probably played my best ever game this day I just worked out how I would have performed against Paul & Curtis (with due respect to studio pressure etc) and I scored 110, but more importantly Paul would have scored 48 and Curtis 68 against me! So Curtis easily appears to me as a better player th...

I don't think Curtis losing was that big a deal. He was an OK player, like Paul, but unlikely to go far in the general scheme of things.
For me it was just because he managed to get a good lead over Paul, which I can't remember anyone else doing, then lost it.

Yep that was tough on Curtis. Seeing we're doing round 9 solutions and I haven't seen my way yet, here it is: 75 x 10/(10 - 8) - (7 - 6)

Re: Spoilers for Friday 11th May 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 88)

Faye could have added the h to her farter and the ed to her balls! I checked both as dc didn't mention them and farther defaults to further, but it's ok, farther is mentioned in the usage section. Martin, Susie specifically mentioned pommies is ok with a small p.

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 1st May 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 80)

On a sidenote, I would not have gotten INSOFAR in R10 had Gyles Brandreth not spotted this in November last year (In the episode with his sweater and his cheering that made me laugh until I went crazy...) I have a strange way of spotting INSOFAR too. I'm old enough to remember Trade Test Colour Fil...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 23rd April 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 75)

Probably on the wiki but I'm behind so don't want to see future results. My way to 884 was:
(6 x 50 - 6) x 75/25 + 2.
Mac seemed like a different player. Must have been the end of the day I guess.

Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 18th April 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 72)

Very good standard again today- Masha putting on a super performance considering English is not her first tongue. Mac ..... is probably kicking himself for missing 399 earlier on, but he got the win. Yep, specially after doing 7 - 50/10 to make a 2 in the 2nd numbers, which Masha didn't. Then in th...

Re: Spoilers for Monday 16th April 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 70)

Alternative to R3 if you want to use all the Numbers: (10 x 7) + 50 + 9 - 6 + 4 Good job on both contestants getting R6 on the dot, I only managed 762..hopefully Dougie can be an Octochamp tomorrow...we haven't had one in 1.5 months! My way to 761 was 4 x 6/3 x (100 - 5) + 1. Guess I was lucky goin...

If cabriole is a dance move then one should be able to have cabrioled, as in congaed and tangoed?
Anyone get one away in the last numbers? Not me, lol.
9 x 75/25 x (8 + 2) = 270

Re: Spoilers for Easter Monday 2018

I know the last numbers wasn't that difficult, but if Noel had chosen an easier selection instead of 4L, going in 10 ahead and nobody getting the conundrum, he would have probably won. He had a few spelling errors too so they probably cancelled out the good his maxes did.
