Re: Countdown mentions on other shows

Countdown just appeared twice on a tribute show hosted by Denis Norden on ITV tonight, previously shown in 2007. First was Carol picking out letters when a hand appeared among them watched by Richard, and later Paul Zenon doing a trick on Des Lynam and saying "oh s**t". Carol and contestants visible...

Not sure if 107 is in the current repeated sequence of targets, but if so and you know it's coming next, 4L is a great choice because whatever the 2 small are, it's possible. (I just checked, lol)

Maybe it goes by the seeding of the match Philip won, ie seed 2 v seed 7, being higher than the seeding of the match Dougie won, which was either 3 v 6 or 4 v 5. But then that's just me guessing.

My way to 583, which I did with it on pause (lol) was (50 - 3) x (6 + 7) - 25 - 3
and to 189: (50 - (25 x 3 / 75)) x 4 - 7 and
75 x 3 - 25 - 7 - 4, which uses less numbers and doesn't need any brackets so it must be better!

Got 404 too, surprised she missed it. Though she is only human I guess.
Same. It's still significantly more frequent that she gets one I've missed than vice versa though.
And she Was dressed as a creme egg :-)

Re: Spoilers for Monday 5th February 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 20)

Did anyone feel sorry for how the champion was cut off as he Ballard up the second numbers. He said that he'd written it down.....maybe a doctor and couldn't read his own writing Yep, when he holds up his paper if you pause it you can see he's written 7x4+3x(?)8, ok so that's 248 anyway so either h...

They put a Y on SPOON, but not on POISON for POISONY in R7.
Or SNOOP for SNOOPY.

Spoilers for Thursday 25th January 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 13)

Hmmm, no spoiler thread already.
Ok, well another more straight forward way to 381 on the 6s = (((9-1) x 5 x 3) + 7) x 3
And Robin sounded like snooker commentator Clive Everton!

I like Tom's reports and think I would miss them if they stopped.

Re: Spoilers for Wednesday 24th January 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 12)

2nd Numbers Alt.: (25 + 1) * (2 + 3) * 5 + 7... expected someone to do it that way! I did! Well almost, I just added the 1 to the other 25. Difficult letters again I thought today, but it got easier later on. Riptides jumped out at me too, spirited I saw but wasn't sure if it had 2 ts and stupider ...

And six smalls...

(Actually I don't mind six smalls, but are difficult rounds always a bad thing?)
And the 6 small was easier by far than the 2 1L numbers rounds that had come before it, one of them being impossible :-)

Re: Spoilers for Tuesday 16th January 2018 (Series 78, Prelim 6)

I took a while seeing 811 but then seeing Rachel and Glen both had it early on told me there was probably a straight forward way, so then I saw it.
I didn't think of 111 x 8 myself for 888 but saw 100 x 3 x (4-1) - 7 - 5 straight away so didn't need to. 483 was just too convenient for a gamble!
