Re: Spoilers for Monday 22nd May 2023 (Series 87, Heat 86)
As of today's episode, 8,164 episodes of Countdown have been broadcast. Naturally there are significant caveats to this number* because there are so many ways to define what counts as an "episode", but for everything before the current series I've gone with "if it has an entry in my ...

Re: First impressions of Anne
I've just tuned in to watch the final stages of this season and it just looks such an unhappy show. Clearly not helped with Suzie being away and leaving Adrian Chiles on his lonesome and a maternity cover for Rachel but boy, it just looks such an utterly miserable production. I thought Anne was an a...

Just tuned in to Only Connect ten minutes in and the captain of the Cluesmiths was my QF conqueror (100-90 on the conundrum, still bitter  ) from ten years ago, Richard Heald. Re: Countdown in Leicester (CoLei) - Saturday 30 August 2008
Just a quick note on getting back to thank Jeff again for a superbly organised day and for all other competitors for making it so enjoyable. If I get my act together, might be able to post some partial recaps (ie some details might be missing) in due course.

Yeah Dinos, look forward to meeting you and the others tomorrow. I've watched the programmes this week for the first time in ages so I'm less rusty than I was but fairly certain (and comfortable!) with the fact I'll be mid to low table!

Re: Bolton v Stoke
Judging from events at the Britannia on Saturday, Stoke have cottoned on to this tactic pretty wellN.B. A "typical Bolton goal" is a goal scored from a long throw or a set piece which defenders just can't cope with . Its the secret to our success (or lack of) .
