Common mispronunciations that irk me:
- sudoku as “su du ko”
- turmeric as “chew muh rick”
- asterisk as “Asterix” (the Gaul)

When people say something is the greatest TV show "OF ALL TIME", basically they're insisting this is
better than any TV show that uh, yknow, the Romans or Greeks made. They really want you to know that.
(same for movies)
