Peter Fenton won another one yesterday, almost breaking the 100 mark. Can he get the third today, and perhaps his first century in the process?

Join Jack for the recap later.

BEADSMAN as a beater in R1.

Anyone remember when the last non-apterite won a game?

(Actually it was Sam, not that long ago, unless he plays under an alias)

Here's how I did...

R1 - Bandies
R2 - Shower
R3 - 108 (On target): 75/25 = 3 + 5 = 8 + 100 = 108
R4 - Poise
R5 - Denial
R6 - 491(On target): 5 + 3 = 8 x 75 = 600 - 100 = 500 - 7 - 2 = 491*
R7 - Broom
R8 - Mussed
R9 - 568 (1 Away): 100 - 75 = 25 x 25 = 625 - 50 = 575 - 8 =567
R10 - Louder
R11 - Ensured
R12 - Faster (Possible Alternate: Savant)
R13 - Reeling
R14 - 282 (On target): 9 + 2 = 11 x 25 = 275 + 7 + 282
R15 - Beaten by challenger. Unknown how I would have done against Peter.

I'll have to wait until the recap goes up before I can comment how I fared against the players since I've lost the score sheet I had.

*Yes, I know. I over complicated this numbers game. I seem to always look for a complicated solution when an easy one stares me in the face. I'm trying my hardest to drop the habit as it's caused me problems in the past.

I heard at the time that Peter had lost this game but this comment kinda logically infers it.
Unlucky Peter, shame there couldn't have been an all-apto showdown to make tomorrow even more interesting (and to appease Jordan Leckonby...)

Mark, or anyone else, can you PM me the rounds as I'm at work and couldn't watch :(

Yeah, would have quite liked to play Giles, despite the fact that our Apterous rankings show that he is clearly a far superior player than me.

Credit to Jean though, she played well and was more consistent than me on the day and thoroughly deserved to win. She was also an all round good egg and enjoyable to play against, so the disappointment of losing was tempered by the fact that another Countdown teapot found its way to a very worthy winner :)

P.S. If 'Countdown Team' is reading this, then thanks a lot for making it a great experience :) Everyone from both the Countdown team and the studios were really friendly and helped make it as enjoyable (and even relaxing!) as possible. The contestants that met all seemed to agree too :)

Also, if anyone is reading this and thinking about applying to go on the show, don't hesitate - you'll have a great time, no matter what the result!
