Can you figure out these statements? First one to add another example to the list (without revealing the secret) gets digital cake.

- Our map is [11a] in the right direction.
- [22b] starred in Rain Man, Top Gun and Mission: Impossible.
- I was born in [44a] but moved to [44b] as a child.
- Every Christmas, [46] in a chair at the mall.
- Please try to be a [58]; winning isn’t everything.

Puzzle inspired by a lot of stuff over at Ken Jennings’ message boards, which I would strongly advise you all to check out.

Now, does anyone else wish to try to crack the puzzle?

Why thank you! It'll take me a while to download all that cream. One more, if I may indulge myself?

Despite an early header from [28a], a [28b] double put West Ham [32a] and inevitably they [32b] at home.

The two sisters cast in the play wanted to be the main protagonists, but in the end they were only offered [66]

And since the play was a big-money American one, they hired a [35b] to provide the music.

I've gotten that but I don't get the relationship with the numbers. I knew the answer to the one Ryan linked to but I don't know how [22b] is supposed to lead me to that.

Conundrum scrambles [series, letter if more than 1 conundrum was used]

Yeah, I kind of figured that would be it but how am I supposed to know TOMCRUISE (this game has annoyed me so I'm not arsed spoiler hiding any more) was a conundrum during that series? And how does it help me find out what all the others are? Am I supposed to trawl through every episode of each series to find an answer that fits each clue? If the number related to a particular episode I might be able to see how one would get it but just referencing a series? Am I being really stupid here and missing something?

I happened to remember Ben Wilson's was SANTASITS, and that he was around the Series 46 mark.
