HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY COUNTDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's 30 years ago today that many people finally found a use for that number 4 button on their TV set or early remote control, and after Paul Coia's announcements, the first TV programme came on air.
Probably the first TV channel to launch with a game show (and probably only Challenge TV has done that since), but unbeknownst to anyone at the time, Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman would become big household names in the years ahead, and via Des Lynam, Des O'Connor and Jeff Stelling, the show is now 30 years strong with Nick Hewer, Rachel Riley and Susie Dent at the helm.
30 years of letters, numbers and conundrums have passed, over 5,700 shows have been made altogether, and the brainboxes and entertainment are still as strong today as they ever were.
SO, HERE'S TO ANOTHER 30 YEARS!!!
Now, back to today's show..............,
We have a new champion, Philip Jackson, who in a high-scoring game yesterday, managed to get 2 chinks into Lucy's armour to take her seat for today's show.
Can he win a few more shows and get within striking range of the leaderboard
Thomas will be around with the recap later on.
And to anyone going to COEDI tomorrow, I'll see you there.
