Excellent spirited match between two gentlemen players of the game, well done both. :) Round 4 was a good laugh, I think everyone was looking for the "R".

Superb standard from Peter once again, well done sir. 8-)

Great performance there, Peter. RESULTANT was brilliant, I was nowhere near it. You don't often go for three vowels, so did you pick for it? Credit to both of you for putting on a good game played in the right spirit.

PANDIT for one DC beater in round 8, although it's not the max.

Very inaccurate stats from Nick at the end there.

Cracking game, formidable performance, Peter. ;) :) :D  8-)

Didn't get either 9, so am more than happy to admit defeat.

11th highest score (not 8th, as Nick said) of all time too. That's something to behold too. :geek: :ugeek:

Well, it is the eighth highest score, if you only count multiple occurrences of higher scores once. Seems an odd way to work it out though.

DOPANT in R8.

Great game, well played Peter. You'd have beaten me and plenty of other people with that performance. Grumble mumble chickened ENSOULING mumble mumble.

Also, good to see Dave Taylor back. "Probably the same six." :-D

OK, I'll assume it was deliberately misleading rather than total sloblock. If they want to tell the viewers that they've just seen the eighth highest score in 30 years of trying because it sounds good (when did the 15-round format start?) why let reality stand in the way?

Had to feel a bit sorry for Dave. Were it not for RESULTANT, SLATTERN would have been the second-highest scoring word ever on Countdown. Sort of.
