Sorry this thread is cutting it close, for some reason I thought James still was able to do Tuesday spoilers. I'll be brief today.

Mark Murphy has gotten to 4 wins in somewhat weak, but memorable fashion. Can he get the 5th today? Still in dictionary corner this week is former cricket player and captain Michael Vaughan.

Recap later.

Mark seems to be getting better slowly, although he's still missing a few fairly obvious words.

ABASHES in round 1.

2nd numbers alt: (8-5)x6x25+(7x2)=464

Managed 12 maximums today. :D

How do you know how many maxes you got without it being on the wiki? Guess there's a solver around somewhere, think I've seen it somewhere. (Maybe I'll ask McCabe).

Thought Mark played well until the last couple of rounds, really, somewhere about 1250-1500 apto standard. Qintar was quality - I guess he knows it through scrabble playing as it's common letters with a Q. And a very good method for 464, but yet he missed 495, perhaps still reeling from losing R13 5-8? Nearly allowed the epic comeback, and credit to the challenger for coming back to evens and making it a good finish.

Round 3 was screaming for a vowel at the end.... +E for REJOICES or even +A for SCORIAE. I physically shouted at my screen when he went consonant, haha.
Round 12 can take PATRIA as another 6 - couldn't see a 7. Don't have anything else really as most of the rounds were like solid 6s and 7s, unless DC missed some obscure stuff.

Yeah but wouldn't a T or M have given EXORCIST/EXORCISM, less probability yes but harder spots if you get lucky. Apologies if that wasn't the case as I was only half paying attention.

Used the recap writer to check (after, not during) the game.

3rd Numbers Alt.: (((50 x 2) + 6 - 1) x 4) + 75 = 495

Also (75-4) x (6+1) -2 = 495

Yeah guess you're right, but I like to look for the vowel cos its (roughly) 1 in 5, whereas consonant is tougher as you say, plus with how my brain works I like more vowels cos I'm weird like that.
