Spoilers For Friday November 18th 2011
So, we've reached the end of another week here in the land of Countdown.
This will be the 100th preliminary of the series today, and I think many of us are hoping that Paul Keane can mark it with an accomplished performance to make it a lucky 7th win.
Join Mike later for all the latest info.
And to those of you that are heading to Chester tomorrow for CoChest, see you there.

So a win with more than 68 points on Monday will put him No 3 seed; a loss with more than 15 will move him up from 7 to 6.

Re: Spoilers For Friday November 18th 2011
Amazed DC missed DEVIANT in round 1. Also had PERLITE in round 4, BAILMENT in round 6 (only after DC mentioned AILMENT) and CELADONS in round 13. Very disappointed to miss REGULATES while I also thought about POTTERERS but I'm not sure I'd have risked it on the show.
3rd numbers alt: ((50-10)x6)-((3-1)x7)=226.

Wondered about that too and would have risked it if I were as far behind as she was, for which reason I can't believe she didn't try PROTESTER.Jack Worsley wrote:...thought about POTTERERS but I'm not sure I'd have risked it on the show.

Also CRONIC in the CONCUR round.

Me too, I wondered if perhaps they had it but politely glossed over it to avoid embarrassing Paul, who spotted it two games earlier.Jack Worsley wrote:Amazed DC missed DEVIANT in round 1.

Fraid not, CONCUR was the darren. Presumably just CRONIC ILLNESS.Keith Bennett wrote:Also CRONIC in the CONCUR round.
Just missed BAILMENT for a max game, so very happy with that pre-CoChest practice.
AGNOSIA and PATINAS in round 3, MESOSAUR in round 7, MAHOUT in round 8 and UNOILED in round 12.
2nd Numbers Alt.: (50 x 8) - (9 x 2) - (6 / 6) = 381

Absolutely. At that stage, nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's a real shame when natural caution takes over. Most contestants are only going to be on once. Might as well take a chance. No regrets and all that.Keith Bennett wrote:I can't believe she didn't try PROTESTER.

Oops! So rumours that being able to spell is useful in this game are true then....JimBentley wrote:Um...you realise it's spelt CHRONIC, right?James Robinson wrote:Fraid not, CONCUR was the darren. Presumably just CRONIC ILLNESS.Keith Bennett wrote:Also CRONIC in the CONCUR round.
Guess I'll have to blame too much red wine.

Re: Spoilers For Friday November 18th 2011
You shouldn't have admitted to that James. I actually thought your joke worked with the spelling mistake - you know, Keith was being 'ill' by spelling it wrong, so it made sense he was suffering from 'cronic illness'. I thought you'd done it deliberately and that Jim was wrong, but I have learnt to never ever doubt Jim Bentley.James Robinson wrote:Yes, about a few seconds before I saw your reply.......JimBentley wrote:Um...you realise it's spelt CHRONIC, right?James Robinson wrote:Fraid not, CONCUR was the darren. Re: Spoilers For Friday November 18th 2011
I suspect that they were put off by having WANKED in the selection - see Rachel's & Paul's grins at the start, and then Paul's TANKED and Jeff pointedly saying WINKED.Innis Carson wrote:Me too, I wondered if perhaps they had it but politely glossed over it to avoid embarrassing Paul, who spotted it two games earlier.Jack Worsley wrote:Amazed DC missed DEVIANT in round 1.
INCLOSED was there in the DIOCESAN round, I think.
