So, Jayne has become an octochamp.

Nice to see a female octochamp again, they seemed to be becoming a dying species.

But, with Jayne gone, that means we have 2 new players today. Will any of them rise to the challenge

That must be one of the worst matches for a long time. Several of Jayne's opponents must really be cursing their luck - not quite good enough to beat her, but surely way ahead of those two. So much for the luck of the draw.....

This often happens after an octorun, because one of the guys will have been drafted in at fairly short notice to make up the extra place. At least, you can see how it's more likely to happen than normal because of this, and just in general that two new contestants are likely to be worse than one new contestant (seeing as the other one will have won at least one game, or beaten somebody that's won at least one game etc etc).

Not a classic today as I would have beaten both quite easily. I'm sure a decent contestant will come along soon though.

TAILORS in round 4, GRENADES in round 6 (though DC came up with a 9 in both rounds), DIURNAL in round 7 and PETITION in round 13.

Look on the bright side - it might persuade some more non-NBGs (Nerdy Boy Graduates) to apply, if they were able to beat today's two contestants.
