Any recaps from older series should be posted here. This forum is unlikely to contain spoilers, but recaps may contain "forward references" if they are written much later, so approach with caution.

Countdown recap for Monday 19 September 1983 (Series 3, Prelim 1).

C1: Challenger Harry Venet.
C2: Challenger David Drake-Brockman.
DC: Yvonne Warburton and Ned Sherrin.
CV: Carol Vorderman.
OT: Other words or solutions.

I’m adding this and a few other ‘conundrum’ only episodes for the sake of completeness. Don’t panic – after a few programmes, Series 3 settles down and gradually the games will gain letters selections, contestant offerings, etc. This really is a case of early Countdown recaps in the making! I’m also indebted to a chap called Phillip Edwards for many of the conundrum scrambles and letter and number selections from these early shows, as I didn’t start recording such things regularly until the start of Series 4.

R09: Y P A N C L I F P (conundrum)

And now a brief interlude before our main feature:
