DC were right this time, as the American spelling wasn't listed until the COD8.James Robinson wrote:C1: toweling - should have been given, as it's OK as an American spelling, which were OK back then

Well spotted, Clive, probably a misinterpretation of my notes by James (who doesn't make many mistakes, to be fair!). I've updated the wiki entry accordingly, but I'll leave JR to amend the recap if he wants to.Clive Brooker wrote:DC were right this time, as the American spelling wasn't listed until the COD8.James Robinson wrote:C1: toweling - should have been given, as it's OK as an American spelling, which were OK back then

Well, when the notes said a tick next to US for TOWELING on the notes, I assumed that meant it was fine on that basis.Mike Brown wrote:Well spotted, Clive, probably a misinterpretation of my notes by James (who doesn't make many mistakes, to be fair!). But, since we've got it sorted, I'll gladly alter it on here.

I agree the notes are a bit ambiguous. No offence meant, sir!James Robinson wrote:Well, when the notes said a tick next to US for TOWELING on the notes, I assumed that meant it was fine on that basis.
