Round 1: H T D S C A E U A

AM: CHASED (6)
WD: SCATHED (7)
DC: CATHEADS (8)
OT: CAUDATES (8) CHATEAUS (8)
DOM: 0
Score: 0–7 (max 8, DC Max 8)

Well, judging by the "50 minutes" according to the TV guide, I suspect there may be a tie-breaker today. Well, well, it certainly looks that way at the moment!

Round 2: N Z S U E D R L A

AM: LAUNDERS (8)
WD: LAUNDERS (8)
OT: LURDANES (8)
DOM: 0
Score: 8–15 (max 16, DC Max 16)

Well, no darrens, but a DC Max is on the cards!

Round 3: P G N G M U E A E

AM: ENGAGE (6)
WD: GAUGE (5)
DC: PNEUMA (6)
OT: APEMEN (6) GAMGEE (6) GANGUE (6) MANEGE (6) MENAGE (6)
DOM: 0
Score: 14–15 (max 22, DC Max 22)

DEFINITELY no darrens!

Round 4: S D N A E O M Y E

AM: DEMEANS (7)
WD: MENDS (5)
DC: SOMEDAY (7)
OT: DAEMONS (7) DYNAMOS (7) MASONED (7) MONEYED (7) MOSEYED (7) NOSEYED (7) NOYADES (7)
DOM: 0
Score: 21–15 (max 29, DC Max 29)

Well, Andrew takes the lead. Oh my goodness, this is fantastic! Can he hold on to it?

Round 5: 100, 9, 1, 3, 5, 3. Target: 437.

AM: 437. (100 + 9) x (5 - 4) + (3 / 3) (10)
WD: 432.
Score: 31–15 (max 39, DC Max 39)

And unless I'm very much mistaken, Andrew is not going to lose!

Now since it's Dave Spikey, who I really don't like at all, my transcript-o-matic has fAiLed.

So here goes on a small description.

Basically, he asks everyone to hum out of tune why he tears up a bit of paper, eats it and pulls out a new one un-ripped, in a homage to Paul Zenon!

Teatime teaser: DUNCETOM -> Record the details of paperwork.
Answer: DOCUMENT.

Round 6: P T F O E T X R O

AM: POOFTER (7)
WD: EXTORT (6)
DC: FOXTROT (7)
OT: FORETOP (7)
DOM: 0
Score: 38–15 (max 46, DC Max 46)

And so....

Round 7: G T R L P A U I A

AM: APART (5)
WD: TRAIL (5)
DC: PARTIAL (7)
OT: PATRIAL (7) PIRAGUA (7)
DOM: 0
Score: 43–20 (max 53, DC Max 53)

Well, no darrens so far, but a DC Max is still on the cards! Maybe darrens are unlucky for them?

Round 8: M D T O I C T D E

AM: EDICT (5)
WD: TIMED (5)
DC: OCTET (5) OMITTED (7)
OT: DEMOTIC (7) TOTEMIC (7)
DOM: 0
Score: 48–25 (max 60, DC Max 60)

Still on for a DC Max, meanwhile Andrew is pulling away at the front. Will is second!

Round 9: R C S H T O I E A

AM: HOARIEST (8)
WD: CORSET (6)
DC: CHARIOTS (8) ACHIOTES (8)
OT: ACTORISH (8) CHARIEST (8) HARICOTS (8) THERIACS (8) THORACES (8)
DOM: 0
Score: 56–25 (max 68, DC Max 68)

Wow! Andrew McNamara is now 31 points away, and, and, OH MY GOODNESS! DC are STILL on for a max game!

Susie talks about nursery rhymes, in particular Sing-a-song-of-sixpence which songbirds were once a delicacy in India. Henry VIII also cooked songbirds.

Round 10: 25, 1, 7, 10, 1, 3. Target: 160.

AM: 160. 25 x 7 - 10 - 1 - 1 - 3 (10)
WD: 160. (1 + 3) x 25 + ((7 - 1) x 10) (10)
Score: 66–35 (max 78, DC Max 78)

So, he is very, very, very far ahead at the moment!

Teatime teaser: SWANGRID -> Make several pictures of Paul's old band.
Answer: DRAWINGS

This was the band Paul McCartney made after The Beatles broke up.

Round 11: R N S T B I E U E

AM: ENTRIES (7)
WD: BURNT (5)
DC: TURBINES (8) TRIBUNES (8) RETINUES (8)
OT: ESURIENT (8) REUNITES (8)
DOM: 0
Score: 73–35 (max 86, DC Max 86)

Well, well, well, Andrew is going along nicely, 38 points ahead.

Round 12: V R N W E O I N E

AM: WINNER (6)
WD: RENOWN (6)
OT: ENVIRON (7) NERVINE (7)
DOM: 0
Score: 79–41 (max 93, DC Max 92)

And that's, that's..... DICTIONARY CORNER! This is amazing! Dictionary Corner fluff the max game, and that means to say that DC have not got a max since 2009!

Round 13: S N D L K U I O E

AM: slinked
WD: KINDLES (7)
DC: SUNLIKE (7)
OT: DELUSION (8) UNSOILED (8)
DOM: 0
Score: 79–48 (max 101, DC Max 99)

The past tense of SLINK is SLUNK, so Andrew's lead is slashed and he shall not reach the 100 mark today. AND there's no darrens! What a corker of a show!

Round 14: 1, 3, 3, 10, 2, 8. Target: 609.

AM: -
WD: 601. (3 + 3) x (8 + 2) x 10 + 1 (5)
RR: 608. (7)
OT: 608. ((10 + 3) x 3) - 1) x 8 x 2 (7)
Score: 79–53 (max 108, DC Max 106)

And Andrew fluffs 2 in a row, and no one can capitalise on this. Thanks Will, thanks for letting Rachel choose!

Round 15: T R A D E E X I T

AM buzzes on 0.5 seconds to say EXTRADITE which is correct.
Final Score: 89–53 (max 118)

Giving everyone heart attacks in the room, Andrew jumps in after 0.5 seconds to say "EXTRADITE?" of which Jeff confirms the answer with the word "Let's".
